Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa proudly supports the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office’ proposed ¾ cent law enforcement district proposition.

This measure will replace and eliminate the current 10 mill property tax, providing relief to property owners across Tangipahoa Parish while ensuring critical resources for public safety.

The tax is projected to generate approximately $25 million in annual revenue, with a net gain of $16 million once the property tax sunsets. These funds will be dedicated primarily to increasing deputy salaries, hiring additional deputies, and supporting essential needs.

Strong, well-supported law enforcement is vital to keeping our communities safe. Crime Stoppers recognizes that this initiative not only eases the burden on property taxpayers, but also invests in the people and resources that protect Tangipahoa Parish every day.
