Work Release Inmate Sought Following Walk-Off
AMITE (September 27, 2025)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) is searching for a work release inmate who walked away from his assignment at the Florida Parishes Arena this afternoon (Saturday, September 27).
Christopher Delcambre, 51, is described as a white male standing 5’10” and weighing 160 lbs. He is wearing blue pants and a white shirt. Delcambre is behind bars in connection with a drug case as well as a felony theft case out of Hammond. Delcambre has ties to the Abita Springs and Carriere, MS area.
Around 3:30 p.m., Delcambre was brought to the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite for a work assignment alongside TPSO staff. When the task (moving pallets) was complete, Delcambre was unaccounted for. Delcambre was last seen heading in a northeast direction toward the new baseball fields by the arena.
Delcambre is in a program that allows select Department of Corrections inmates to work jobs outside of the jail.
At this time, deputies are coordinating with area law enforcement partners to actively search for Delcambre. There is no concern for danger to the public at this time. All rodeo events and activities planned for this evening are still scheduled to take place on time. There will be adequate security, as usual, at the Arena.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker is asking anyone with information about Delcambre’s whereabouts to call 911 (if in the Tangipahoa area), the Tangipahoa Parish Jail directly at 985-748-8147 (option 1) or Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa’s tip line at 1-800-554-5245 or visit www.tangicrimestoppers.com and click on the P3 Tips icon or Submit A Tip! Your information can be shared anonymously.

Teen Arrested for Series of Crimes
HAMMOND (September 24, 2025)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a Hammond teen for several gun-related crimes over the past three months.
Laterrious “Bezo” Braziel, 18, has been booked on one count each of Aggravated Assault by Drive-By, Armed Robbery, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Weapon and Aggravated Criminal Damage.
On July 20, TPSO received reports of shots fired in the area of Mashon Road in Independence. While no one was injured, a car and house was hit by the gunfire. During that investigation, on August 25, TPSO received a report about a gaming device being stolen at gunpoint at a home on Happywoods Road in Hammond. From there, detectives determined Braziel was the suspect in both cases. As detectives were actively attempting to locate Braziel, on September 17, TPSO received a report about a man being shot at while driving down Baker Lane in Hammond. He was not injured. Detectives quickly identified Braziel as the shooter and added another warrant for his arrest.
This morning, September 24, Braziel was taken into custody at a relative’s house without incident.
The TPSO wants to thank the community for its cooperation and support with this investigation.
